Aishwarye serves as in-house Maritime Lawyer and Legal Advisor to A.P. Møller Maersk — the world’s largest container shipping line — providing specialist legal counsel on major incidents, complex cargo disputes, crew claims, and P&I matters across the global fleet.
This role places him at the centre of some of the most commercially significant and legally complex maritime matters in the industry, with responsibility for protecting Maersk’s legal position from first response through to resolution.
Handling and management of major maritime incidents including ship collision, onboard cargo fire, and EV cargo fire — coordinating evidence collection, cause investigation, and immediate legal response.
Managing all legal processes arising from vessel damage (Hull & Machinery), cargo claims, and crew claims including death and disability — from notification through to final settlement or litigation.
Leading evidence collection and cause investigation for high-stakes and major incidents affecting both vessel and crew — working with surveyors, forensic experts, and technical consultants.
Representing Maersk in communications with P&I Clubs, external lawyers, expert witnesses, and High Net-Worth Clients (HNCs) across jurisdictions.
As Principal Associate at Lardner North & Co., Aishwarye handles a broad maritime commercial practice covering the full range of shipping disputes, insurance claims, contract review, and commercial advisory for domestic and international clients.
He has worked in close coordination with reputed Oil & Gas energy companies and international shipping companies in claim management and commercial disputes, successfully representing ship owners, ship operators, and charterers in commercial legal negotiations and mediations.

The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) is India’s premier maritime think-tank, providing strategic research and policy advisory to the government, the Indian Navy, and industry. As Associate Fellow, Aishwarye was engaged at the highest levels of India’s maritime policy process — advising government ministries, the Indian Navy, and participating in international diplomatic engagements.
Imparting commercial maritime legal knowledge to LL.M (Maritime Laws) students. Students mentored achieved Global Ranks 4, 37 & 49 at the International Maritime Olympiad 2026.
Senior Arbitrator at the International Maritime Arbitration Moot Court, organised by NLU Odisha in collaboration with the Institute of International Shipping & Trade Law, Swansea University, UK.
Directed and conducted a Triple Credit Course on International Maritime Law & Practice (6–18 January 2025) for lawyers, law students, marine superintendents, ship charterers, ship owners, marine insurers, and vessel operators.
