From winning Best Mediation Plan at the Young International Mediation Competition in Hong Kong to mentoring students to global podium finishes at the International Maritime Olympiad — a record of excellence across law, academia, and the maritime industry.
Aishwarye won First Position for Best Mediation Plan at the Young International Mediation Competition 2015 — one of the most prestigious international mediation competitions for law students globally, held at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and organised jointly by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Vis East Moot Foundation.
The YIMC brings together law students from leading universities worldwide to compete in complex commercial mediation simulations before panels of senior international mediators, arbitrators, and legal practitioners. Winning the Best Mediation Plan award required not only mastery of mediation technique but the ability to craft a legally rigorous, commercially astute, and strategically effective mediation strategy under competitive conditions.
Semi-Finalist in the Best Team competition at YIMC 2015 — demonstrating excellence across both individual advocacy and team performance at the premier international mediation competition.
Aishwarye was awarded Best Mediator in the Final Round of the NLS ADR Tournament — one of India’s most prestigious alternative dispute resolution competitions, organised by the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris.
The NLS ADR Tournament is India’s flagship ADR competition, attracting the finest law students from across the country and evaluated by leading practitioners and academics in arbitration and mediation. Winning Best Mediator in the Final Round represents the highest individual accolade at the competition — recognising exceptional skill in facilitated negotiation, legal analysis, and dispute resolution technique.
Aishwarye won the Treaty Appreciation Competition at the 6th GLC International Law College competition, held at Government Law College, Mumbai from 30 January to 2 February 2015 — in collaboration with the World Trade Organization.
The Treaty Appreciation Competition tests participants on their in-depth understanding of international trade law treaties, WTO agreements, and the legal framework governing international commerce. Winning this competition required mastery of complex multilateral treaty provisions, trade dispute settlement, and the ability to apply international trade law principles with precision and analytical clarity.
“A landmark competition at the intersection of international trade law and legal advocacy — bringing together the best student legal minds from across India under the auspices of the World Trade Organization.”

Aishwarye was awarded an A Grade and Certificate of Excellence for completing the Short Term Course Study on Sustainable Energy, organised by the IARC Centre for United Nations.
This award reflects Aishwarye’s broader engagement with international environmental law and the legal dimensions of sustainable energy — a domain of growing relevance to maritime law as the shipping industry navigates IMO decarbonisation targets, alternative fuels, and the transition away from fossil fuels at sea.
In 2026, students mentored by Aishwarye at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar achieved Global Ranks 4, 37, and 49 at the International Maritime Olympiad 2026 — a global competition organised by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) student community, testing knowledge of international maritime law, shipping conventions, and maritime industry practice.
These results are a direct reflection of the quality, depth, and practical relevance of Aishwarye’s teaching at RRU — where his approach of bringing live case studies, real disputes, and industry experience into the classroom gives students a competitive edge that textbook learning alone cannot provide.
In addition to winning Best Mediation Plan as an individual award, Aishwarye’s team reached the Semi-Final of the Best Team competition at YIMC 2015 — demonstrating not only individual excellence but the ability to work as an effective team in high-pressure international mediation proceedings.
The Best Team competition at YIMC evaluates the collaborative performance of mediation teams across multiple rounds — testing their ability to develop and execute a coherent, adaptive mediation strategy in complex commercial disputes before panels of senior international practitioners.
